So there are technical benefits to larger sensors, but these have to be balanced against size, weight and cost.
For purists, however, there’s a large sensor ‘aesthetic’, an undefinable look in the S1 gives which cannot easily be replicated on an APS-C or micro four thirds camera. In our view, the S1, paired with the Lumix 50mm F1.4 S-X50 creates about as good a 4K image as you can get – at almost any price.
