At IBC 2019 in September Holdan added around 30 new products. So, the learning curve for anyone in the sales, marketing or technical teams is steep.
We have to have an understanding of cables, connectors, sensor sizes, resolutions, frame rates, exposure, three point lighting, focal lengths, crop factors, power, media types, codecs, storage sizes, bit rates, IP addressing, latency, chroma key, luma key, Linear key, CG overlay, switching, routing, multiplexing, upscaling, down scaling, standards conversion, SDI, fibre and HDBase-T distribution, GPU expansion, PCIe expansion, capture cards, i/o interface boxes, colour grading, colour space, compression, editing, transcoding, multi-viewers, video walls, cellular bonding, IP streaming, encoders and decoders, as well as all the annoying bits of jargon that goes along with it.
We're IABM members, attend industry trade shows, have internal tech tips training, receive manufacturer product training, complete hands on testing, watch video reviews, join webinars, read trade magazines and enter staff quizzes.
We have a formal training programme for staff, but we also encourage everyday learning.
We also live in the digital, always on, mobile-everywhere internet realm and that is before 5G changes everything up a gear. We’ve used our mobile screens for communication and entertainment, but don’t miss out on digital learning and research. So, whether you’re in bed, on the train or drinking your morning brew, there’s no excuse not to be learning.
Because we love the latest solutions and workflows, just like you.
