The VariCam HS (AU-V23HS1) high speed 2/3 type camera head; featuring three 1920 x 1080p MOS imagers with extraordinary 14 stops of dynamic range, providing full control over wide range lighting conditions for unparalleled 1080p native recording/operation. The camera/recorder boasts a classical RGB imager/prism system that provides equi-band full resolution colour processing for critical applications. Among the camcorder’s key features are real-time high frame rate and off-speed recording to 240fps in 1080p (using AVC-Intra Class100), plus the ability to ramp / change frame rates during record. To complement the impressive video quality, the new VariCam boasts 24-bit LPCM audio capabilities. Powerful yet creative image controls such as matrix, detail, gammas and a new Log recording capability, allow precise, powerful creative control over image parameters.
The VariCam HS will feature a range of high-quality recording formats including AVC-Intra Class100 (recording as 1080/24p, 25/30p or 50/60p format) with VFR (up to 240p), AVC-Intra Class200 (up to 30p/60i) and AVC-Intra Class4:4:4 (up to 30p). Both AVC-Intra Class200 and AVC-Intra Class4:4:4 deliver spectacular performance in applications where image quality is the utmost consideration.

Great as a portable mixer or a signal switcher, it’s being adopted by everyone from conference producers to AV technicians looking for simple HDMI switching.
It’s certainly not too little, too late.More details have emerged at NAB about the new 14 stop VariCam 35 / VariCam HS that are making people sit up and pay close attention. Firstly, it’s a modular system – users can choose the 35mm sensor for 4K images and a cinematic look (uo-to 120fps) or attach the high speed (240fps) 2K front with its wide depth of field. With both, the front and back can be split for jib mounting or use in tight shooting angles. We can see shoots taking both fronts to get so much creative freedom, but having only one system to learn, one codec, one workflow and less kit to carry.

Symptom
When the system frequency is 23.98p/29.97p/59.94p, the value of Capture Frame Rate (metadata of a VFR-recorded clip) is rounded down and shown as an integer.
Example 23.98p for SYSTEM & 48fps for VFR
False: 47 True: 47.95
Therefore, the motion speed in VFR was not correctly calculated by application software that refers to the metadata.
